Anne Packham Receives Health Equity Heroes Award
On May 19, 2022, Anne Packham, who has spearheaded the Marketplace Navigator Project since 2013, received the Health Equity Heroes Award from the Florida Department of Health in Orange County. She is pictured with members of the navigator team, the PCAN Executive Director, and a PCAN Board Member.
The Marketplace Navigators project began in 2015 as a joint effort between PCAN and local health departments to help people understand their options for health insurance coverage through the Affordable Care Act. The team has grown over time and now consists of a group of community-based organizations that provide in-person assistance with enrollment and eligibility determination for individuals seeking coverage through healthcare.gov, The Health Insurance Marketplace.
The project is funded by grants from CMS/ACF and managed by PCAN’s Community Health Marketplace Navigator Program, who provides assistance to navigators across Central Florida.
